Frances Mae Palmer, 102, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, February 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 16, 1923, at her family home in Capron, IL. The daughter of the late Myles and Elizabeth “Betty” (Anderson) Kendall. She graduated from Capron High School in 1941. Frances married the love of her life, Donald Palmer, on September 6, 1941, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere. Frances was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Belvidere and was a member of the Pioneer Club and the Sewing Circle. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed traveling. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Frances is loved and will be missed by her daughter, Susan (Dale) Rather; grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Vincent, Matthew Rather, Karen Boettcher, and William (Sara) Palmer; great-grandchildren, Chase (Cassy) Normand, Remington Vincent, Brendan Rather, Carolyn Boettcher, Carly Palmer, Jacob Palmer; great-great-granddaughter, Celine Frances Normand; special friends, Amber Rather, Marge Olson, and Jeanne Marner; many friends at Zion Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sandra Kay Palmer; beloved husband, Donald Palmer; son William Palmer; daughter-in-law, Janice Palmer; great-grandson, Andrew Boettcher. A special thanks to OSF Hospice, especially Kim, Gina and Janelle. There will be a visitation Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Belvidere, IL. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Entombment in Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
